Kathryn Holland CFP®, CDFA®, RICP®
As a financial planner, Kathryn Holland has made it her mission to help clients feel confident in their financial health. She connects with clients on a deep level, understanding their personal approach to money and translating this understanding into actionable plans that instill control and confidence. Kathryn’s career is driven by her firsthand experience navigating financial decisions during a life-changing event—her own divorce. Recognizing the vulnerabilities of financial inexperience, she pursued her certification as a Certified Divorce Financial Analyst (CDFA®) to provide guidance and empathy to clients facing similar challenges. Kathryn’s experience as a stay-at-home mom who found herself suddenly managing finances motivates her to be the trusted advisor she once needed, offering a steady presence through turbulent times.
Kathryn is also a Retirement Income Certified Professional (RICP®), specializing in the complexities of retirement income planning with a focus on the unique needs of individuals experiencing a "grey divorce." She brings a tailored approach to retirement income that goes beyond traditional one-size-fits-all strategies, integrating modern retirement theories to help clients confidently navigate this phase of life.
Kathryn holds the Certified Financial Planner® designation, which equipped her with a comprehensive understanding of all aspects of personal finance, from budgeting and cash flow analysis to investment, tax, and estate planning. She empowers clients through financial literacy, helping them establish better financial habits and fostering open family communication around money.
Her financial career began over 20 years ago, supporting union workers with their retirement and healthcare benefits. Following ten years dedicated to raising her family, she entered the financial services industry in Dallas, Texas, gaining invaluable experience in compliance. In 2019, she joined Edward Jones, where she furthered her financial planning expertise and earned her CFP® certification. Recognizing her ambition for comprehensive client support, Kathryn initially joined LPL through Fremont Bank before choosing to work independently alongside her brother, Rick Holland, in a collaborative advisory group. This decision has allowed her to fully control her practice, dedicating her efforts solely to her clients’ best interests with the confidence of a supportive and knowledgeable team.
Kathryn graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Liberal Studies from the Hutchins School of Liberal Arts at Sonoma State University. She now combines her certifications and personal insight to deliver a nuanced approach to financial planning and retirement strategy.
Kathryn’s life outside of finance is equally dynamic. She’s a mother, newly married on Leap Day 2024, and an avid hockey player who volunteers extensively with her local hockey community to make the sport accessible for all. Kathryn donates platelets regularly, tallying over eight gallons to date, and stays active with a range of hobbies including snowboarding, crafting, and upcycling vintage clothing into custom band merchandise with her son. Her curiosity fuels her willingness to dive into new activities, bringing a sense of balance and passion that extends from her personal life into her professional dedication to clients.
